As you know we are on day 3 of our 21 Days of Prayer and Invitation. I hope you’re praying, inviting and expecting God to do some big things. I’ve been getting texts, phone calls, and emails from people all week long telling me about their invitation experiences…
“Just thought I’d share this with you . . . I was checking out at Walmart and gave the invite card to the teller and she said, “Oh thank you, my daughter and I were just talking about it this morning” so I told her “Well, now you’ve found the place, I’ll be praying for you” . . . . I thought wow! . . . you just never know what is going on in people’s lives and how God is going to use a “simple invitation”, right?”
I also received a call from an ABF teacher who invited someone she was shopping with. She told me that the lady said that she and her boyfriend had just been talking yesterday about getting involved in a church. This is the text I received after the phone call…
“Hi Ben. I just want to say I cannot believe how friendly and receptive people are to receiving these invitations.”
I just received an email that I thought was great. One of our members was having a procedure on their eyes today. Her husband sent me this…
“The Dr came out to talk to us and I told him we were in a Sunday School class of about 80 and I think half of them have had cataract surgery in the last year or so, and he had done most of them. He was very interested and asked about the class and who our teacher was etc. I invited him to our class.”
Last week, one of our members followed up with some kids on GROW Outreach who had come to our children’s ministry. They met the parents and invited them back. This week the came back to church, and yes, to an Adult Bible Fellowship!
Pastor Frazier often says:
“Missions is about people, not geography.”
Our mission field is in stores, houses, and yes, even doctor’s offices! Why? Because that is where people are!
