Good morning ABF and Student Ministry Teachers and leaders,
A new quarter begins with new things happening. Students head back to school, vacation season is coming to a close, and fall is upon us. What is not new, though, is the mission that God has called us to pursue. I’m excited for the opportunity we have as a church to minister in this new upcoming season. I hope that you are, too. Last Sunday we saw 3 people join who Sunday School leaders followed up with on GROW. God has given us many opportunities and I want to let you know about some things that are coming up.
Leadership Meetings Resume
Our monthly leadership meetings for teachers, care group leaders, inreach leaders and outreach leaders from each class on the 3rd Sunday Night of the month will resume this month on September 17th at 4pm. This first meeting is very important and will help us to set the tone for some major things in the fall. Please make every attempt to be there and encourage other leaders in your class to be there as well. Part of the value of the meeting is the chance you get with your team to work on your class and make plans for improvement and ministry together. Please don’t miss it!
Exodus begins Sunday
As you know, we begin our new study in Exodus tomorrow. In case you didn’t know, you can find a helpful video summary each Monday on the cantonbaptistabf.com site. You can also find resources at http://blog.lifeway.com/explorethebible every week. I found this article, “5 Excuses for Not Answering God’s Call“, particularly helpful and will be using some of this content in my lesson this week in my class
New Wednesday Night Study Group for Teachers
Starting this Wednesday, I’ll be starting a group for ABF teachers, assistant teachers, and potential new teachers who will meet with me each week at 7pm. We’ll be studying the text and lesson for the upcoming Sunday each week, and will talk about best practices when it comes to being a teacher and leader in our ABF’s. I know some of you may be unable to come, but if you can come I know it will be helpful to you and your presence, influence and insight can help others who are there. Even if you can’t come, this would be a great elective for assistant teachers or people who you think may be great future teachers as well. We’ll be meeting in room 241. This is the room across from the college class, where the ladies class currently meets on Sundays.
Starting on Sunday, September 10, I’ll be hosting a leadership elective for current ABF teachers and especially prospective new leaders. I’ve invited 30+ people and as of now there are 13 registered. If you have anyone that you’d like me to invite as a prospective future leader in our ABF’s, or if you’d like to come yourself you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or click here to register for the class.
